Friends are found in precise times in unexpected places.  I've made some of my best friends in the weirdest situations, and it coincidentally  always happens during the first day of something relevant in my life.  First day of school, first week at a new job, first arrival to a new country, first jazz festival, first 9 hour delayed flight stranded on an airport...  I guess when we're beginning something new, we're open and aware to everything.  Our heart and mind are unblocked and ready to learn and make connections with the world.

My kind of friendships fall right into place in this category. And I believe that's the reason I get to meet them on memorable days.

I like people who are genuine about who they are, upfront on the beliefs and strong on chasing their dreams.  Loud laughers, life travelers,  foodies, and dog lovers if they may.  My friends are compassionate, caring and helpful, and I always, always admire and learn from their heart.

Tanne is all this and more.  And I met her on a first day of school. And I was lucky enough to be with her on the first day of her life with Carlos.

I was and am happy and overwhelmed by their love, and laughed, cried and danced all day with them.  I am thankful for their honest and kind friendship, and wish them all the happiness they deserve!!!!
